In 1944, a C-47 Air Transport plane went down in the Alaskan Wilderness near Mt. McKinley with 19 men aboard.

The Army Air Force organized a mission to recover bodies and try to find the reason for the crash.

44 men, soldiers and civilians, volunteered for one of the most hazardous expeditions ever attempted in Alaska.

This story,  recorded and preserved by my mother in the McKinley  book, has remained untold until now.....
